Ardboe Coldstore win ‘Chilled Operator of The Year’ and ‘Driver of The Year’ at The Export and Freight Awards

We attended the Export and Freight Awards this month and are absolutely delighted to announce that Ardboe Coldstore won not one, but two awards…

‘Chilled Operator of The Year’ and ‘Driver of The Year’

The prestigious ‘Chilled Operator of The Year’ was awarded to a company that demonstrates an exceptional level of refrigerated distribution with a modern, sustainable and pristine fleet of trucks and trailers, partnered with a proven, excellent level of chilled, frozen and ambient storage and customer service. Winning this award represents our commitment to exceeding customer expectations with our temperature controlled warehousing and distribution services. It also acknowledges our dedication to implementing and developing customer relationships. As a business and as a family, we are so grateful to our amazing team of people whose efforts make an accolade like this so special.

Congratulations to our driver, Steven McNulty, on winning ‘Driver of The Year’, with his evidently, exemplary driving skills which were put to the test on a course designed by judges, in which he created a 24 second time gap between first and second place!

It was a fabulous night to recognise and celebrate excellence within the Logistics Industry. Well done to all of our fellow winners and finalists.

Cars and Coffee Charity Morning

We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who supported our Cars and Coffee Morning in aid of Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke. As a family run business, we have personal experience of this vital charity and their invaluable work.

From attendees who came along to showcase their fabulous cars and our own team’s help on the day, to our customers and suppliers’ generosity, we were truly overwhelmed and are delighted to have raised an amazing £7500 for Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke which will not only be used to provide care, but also to facilitate research and prevention.

We were delighted to host the event which involved a raffle with prizes such as VIP Ulster Rugby Tickets and Galgorm Resort Vouchers, complimentary coffee and waffle vans on behalf of Ardboe Coldstore and representatives from NICHS.

Ardboe Coldstore Boosts Sustainability Credentials

We recently acquired three new Scania 560S models. We are also expanding our fleet of Schmitz and Chereau trailers with the addition of new energy efficient technology powered by the Thermo King Advancer refrigeration unit. This Scania model appealed to us as it can be fuelled by HVO (Hydro Treated Vegetable Oil) Fuel, which reduces CO2 emissions by 90%, enhancing our carbon footprint. The A-500 Spectrum refrigeration unit is fit for every occasion, with its multi-temperature configurations. Eugene Carson, Director, says “All of these measures are testament to our commitment to implementing a sound and robust sustainability strategy for our business into the future.” Many thanks to Peter Keightley, Scania UK, pictured with Eugene Carson, Director and Niall Tohill, Transport Manager.
